Product Owner for Platform Squad

Job Description

Are you passionate about building strong technology foundations and enabling better use of data across a large organisation? We are looking for a Product Owner to join Data Platform, where we work with the infrastructure, capabilities and services that support the full D&A area.

As Product Owner, you will play a key role in shaping, prioritising and delivering platform capabilities that make it easier, safer and more efficient for teams to work with analytics, governance, privacy and data products.

About The Role

As Product Owner in Data Platform, you will be responsible for driving the product vision, roadmap and backlog for selected platform capabilities. You will work closely with engineering teams, architects, stakeholders and users across D&A to ensure that our platform services meet current and future needs.

We are currently building an enterprise platform on Databricks, which will become a key foundation for analytics and data use across D&A. In addition, Data Platform is responsible for the implementation and operation of Collibra for governance and OneTrust for privacy.

The role requires a good high-level understanding of IT infrastructure, including cloud, compute, storage, networking, security, operations and platform services. You do not need to be a deep technical specialist, but you must be comfortable discussing technical topics and translating business needs into clear product priorities.

Your Key Responsibilities

You will own and drive the product vision, roadmap and backlog for your area. Furthermore, you will:

• Help shape and mature our enterprise platform on Databricks
• Support the implementation and operation of Collibra for governance and OneTrust for privacy
• Prioritise features, improvements and technical enablers based on business value, risk and strategic direction
• Work closely with engineers, architects and stakeholders to define requirements and acceptance criteria
• Ensure alignment between platform capabilities and the needs of teams across D&A
• Facilitate dialogue between technical teams and business stakeholders
• Support delivery planning, sprint priorities and dependency management

In addition, you will communicate progress, priorities and decisions clearly to relevant stakeholders, help ensure that platform services are reliable, secure, scalable and easy to use, and contribute to the continuous improvement of ways of working, product practices and platform adoption.

About You

You are curious, structured and able to create clarity in a complex technical environment. You enjoy working with both people and technology, and you know how to bring different perspectives together to reach the right priorities. You have a strong product mindset and are motivated by building solutions that enable others to succeed.

We are looking for someone who has experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager or similar role.

• A solid understanding of agile ways of working
• High-level knowledge of IT infrastructure and platform technologies
• Experience working with technical teams, preferably within data, analytics, cloud or infrastructure
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• The ability to translate complex technical topics into clear priorities and outcomes
• A structured approach to backlog management, planning and decision-making
• A strong focus on value creation, user needs and delivery
• The ability to balance strategic direction with day-to-day execution

It would be an advantage if you have experience with

• Data platforms, analytics platforms or enterprise data environments
• Databricks or similar modern platform technologies
• Governance, privacy or compliance tooling, such as Collibra or OneTrust
• Cloud platforms and modern infrastructure services
• DevOps, CI/CD, automation or platform engineering
• Security, compliance and risk considerations in a technology environment
• Working in a large, complex organisation with multiple stakeholders
