Role Description This Senior AWS Cloud Architect – Python & Government Agency Experience role is a contract, on-site position based in Menands, NY. The role involves designing and implementing AWS cloud architectures that support secure, scalable solutions for government agency projects. Daily responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements, defining architecture patterns, and overseeing infrastructure design, deployment, and optimization in AWS. The architect will contribute to Python-based application and service development, guide integration between cloud services and existing systems, and ensure adherence to security, compliance, and performance standards. The role also includes producing technical documentation, mentoring technical staff, and participating in reviews to validate solutions against agency policies and best practices.
Qualifications

• Strong Solution Architecture skills, including designing end-to-end cloud solutions and selecting appropriate AWS services.
• Experience with Infrastructure design and operations, including networking, security, IAM, monitoring, and high availability in AWS.
• Background in Software Development, with proficiency in Python and experience building, testing, and maintaining cloud-based applications.
• Ability to lead Integration efforts across systems, APIs, and data sources to ensure interoperability and reliable data flow.
• Solid Architecture fundamentals, including scalability, reliability, security, and cost optimization in complex environments.
• Hands-on experience working with or for government agencies, including familiarity with regulatory, security, and compliance requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Relevant AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional) are highly beneficial.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to work on-site in a structured, secure environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
