Lead Snowflake Admin

Must Haves:

• 5+ years managing enterprise applications and databases
• 2+ years of Azure, AWS, or GCP cloud experience, with strong Azure experience highly relevant
• 2+ years of Snowflake experience
• 3+ years of DevOps or DataOps experience
• Snowflake Administration experience, including users, roles, RBAC, and stored procedures
• 2+ years in a lead, managerial, or customer-facing capacity involving task assignment, delegation, and oversight
• Strong SQL proficiency
• Hands-on Azure ecosystem experience, including technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Databricks, Key Vault, Blob Storage, and Azure DevOps
• Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform or a similar technology
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub
• Understanding of distributed computing and Big Data technologies such as Spark, NiFi, Impala, Hive, and Snowflake
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field

Job Description:

A client of Insight Global is seeking a Cloud Data Platform Lead / Administrator to oversee the day-to-day operations and administration of an enterprise cloud data environment. This individual will provide technical leadership to Cloud Data Platform Administrators, assign and oversee work, mentor less-experienced team members, and ensure the timely and high-quality completion of platform initiatives.

The role will be heavily involved in administering and supporting Azure and Snowflake environments. Responsibilities include managing security access and users through RBAC, supporting Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Databricks, Key Vault, Azure Blob Storage, Azure DevOps, and Snowflake, as well as developing automated and repeatable processes through Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD.

This person will help drive a Cloud DevOps model focused on automation and reusable patterns across environments. They will troubleshoot production issues, analyze logs, participate in incident response and postmortems, optimize performance and cloud costs, and develop monitoring solutions to maintain high availability and meet job SLAs.

The Cloud Data Platform Lead / Administrator will collaborate closely with infrastructure, network, database, application, analytics, Data Engineering, and product teams. They will evaluate cloud use cases, advise teams on platform architecture and security, recommend technology improvements, and help develop solutions that improve scalability, stability, performance, and automation.

Additional responsibilities include onboarding and training Cloud Data Platform users, supporting enterprise security standards, researching emerging technologies, contributing to technical roadmaps, escalating complex issues to internal teams and third-party vendors, and participating in a rotational on-call schedule for production support.
