DevOps Engineer for Testing (m/f/d) — Kiel

A defence technology manufacturer in Kiel is building out the test infrastructure behind its naval communications systems, and is looking for a DevOps Engineer to take ownership of it.

The role

You would own the development-side Hardware-in-the-Loop test systems and bring them into the wider test automation strategy. Alongside that you would administer and expand the virtualised test environments, and build and optimise the GitLab Runner pipelines and CI/CD workflows that drive automated testing.

It is an agile development team, and the person in this seat is expected to shape how testing is done rather than just keep it running.

What they are looking for

Essential

• A completed degree in Computer Science, Electrical and Information Engineering, or comparable
• Experience with Linux operating systems and good Python skills
• Hands-on experience with virtualisation software
• Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines, specifically GitLab Runner
• Experience with version control, preferably GitLab or GitHub
• Good working knowledge of agile methodologies, especially Scrum
• Good German and English, written and spoken

Beneficial

• Hardware-in-the-Loop, test benches, test rigs or laboratory integration
• Defence, naval, maritime, aerospace, automotive or industrial test systems
• Test automation frameworks and tooling

The detail

Location: Kiel. The first four weeks are fully on site, then approximately 60% home office

Contract: 24-Month Secure ANÜ Engagement

Hours: 40 per week, Monday to Friday

Salary: €57,000 to €94,000 gross per year, depending on level

Start: As soon as possible
