Platform Engineer | C#/.NET, AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform | 20+ Year Profitable Trading Tech Firm

• Salary: competitive base plus bonus
• Location: Hertfordshire, hybrid (3 days in the office for the first 6 months, then 2)

I'm working with a long-established, consistently profitable online trading business that's adding a Platform Engineer to its three-person platform team. You'll run the platform behind their trading products, covering AWS, Kubernetes (K8s) and Terraform for 400+ C# microservices, and build the tools their 30 or so software engineers use to build, test and deploy.

The platform team are software engineers first and write their own C# services for the developers. You'll need a software engineering background, with the cloud and infrastructure work built on top of it.

The office is in Hertfordshire, an easy train from central London and close to the M1, A1(M) and M25. Office days are Tuesday and Wednesday, plus Thursday for your first six months.

What They're Looking For (Non-Negotiables)

• Software engineering: commercial experience as a developer, ideally C#/.NET
• Cloud: ideally AWS
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): ideally Terraform
• AI tools: hands-on use, and keen to push them further
• Communication: you'll support around 30 engineers day to day

• Work splits roughly 50/50 between support and projects, from app work to the yearly Kubernetes upgrade, and the team moves on quickly when something more useful comes up.
• AI is part of the job. They want people who spot where it helps and bring it into how the team works, and you'll use Claude Code in the final interview.
• They release several times a day, so you'll work either 7:30 to 4:00 or 9:00 to 5:30, shared around the team.
