We’re looking for a Senior Python Engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, building reliable applications, and helping other engineers grow. This person will be hands-on with development while also helping guide technical decisions and improve how the team builds and supports software.

Work Schedule & Interview Process

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design, develop, test, and document software, scripts, and technical solutions
• Build and support large-scale applications across both front-end and back-end systems
• Use root cause analysis to identify technical issues and determine the right fixes
• Design systems and features within the team’s area of responsibility and lead larger implementations
• Break down complex technical designs into manageable pieces that the broader engineering team can build and maintain
• Help improve the reliability, resiliency, security, performance, and scalability of applications
• Identify potential issues early and make sure systems have the right monitoring, logging, and instrumentation in place
• Create testing and monitoring strategies to help ensure applications meet performance and availability goals in production
• Identify security vulnerabilities and help drive them to resolution
• Evaluate potential security risks and attack surfaces and recommend ways to reduce those risks
• Help the team prioritize smaller, high-value pieces of work that can be delivered quickly
• Look for opportunities to reuse existing tools, services, and solutions instead of reinventing the wheel
• Mentor and coach other engineers and help support their technical development
• Stay curious about new technologies and look for better ways to solve technical problems

Must-Have Experience

• 5–7 years of full software development lifecycle (SDLC) experience, including designing, developing, and implementing large-scale applications
• 5+ years of professional Python development experience
• Strong experience with FastAPI
• 5+ years working with RESTful web services and APIs
• Experience with secrets management, such as:
• HashiCorp Vault
• AWS Secrets Manager
• Azure Key Vault

Nice to Have

• 5+ years with React, TypeScript, and JavaScript
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles
• 3+ years with Terraform and Vault
• 3+ years of professional software design and/or open-source development experience
• 3+ years working with Git and GitHub
• 3+ years working with Windows and Linux environments, including shell scripting
• Experience with PostgreSQL and other database/persistence technologies
• Experience with ORM frameworks and database query performance tuning
• Experience working with cloud platforms, particularly Azure
