Job Overview

We are seeking a Sr. Engineer – Automation to join our technology team in Fort Worth, TX. The ideal candidate will have strong software development experience with Python, FastAPI, RESTful web services, and cloud secrets management technologies.

This role will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting large-scale applications while focusing on reliability, security, performance, and automation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and implement large-scale applications across both front-end and back-end environments.
• Develop and maintain applications and RESTful web services using Python and FastAPI.
• Work with enterprise secrets-management technologies such as HashiCorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager, or Azure Key Vault.
• Design self-contained systems and lead implementation of significant capabilities within existing applications.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and identify opportunities to improve system reliability, resiliency, security, and performance.
• Develop effective test suites and instrumentation to support application availability, latency, observability, and production support.
• Identify potential security risks and attack surfaces and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Promote reusable solutions and engineering best practices across projects.
• Write, test, and document technical solutions according to organizational standards.
• Mentor team members and help improve engineering practices and technical capabilities.
• Break down complex technical designs into maintainable implementations.
• Collaborate with team members to deliver high-value solutions efficiently.

Required Qualifications

• 5–7 years of professional software development / SDLC experience designing, developing, and implementing large-scale applications.
• 5+ years of Python development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with FastAPI.
• 5+ years of experience developing RESTful web services/APIs.
• Hands-on experience with at least one of the following:
• HashiCorp Vault
• AWS Secrets Manager / Secrets Management
• Azure Key Vault
• Experience with both front-end and back-end development.
• Strong understanding of software development principles, testing, and application design.
• Ability to work onsite 3 days per week and be onsite on the first day of the assignment.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with React, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
• Experience with Terraform and HashiCorp Vault.
• Strong object-oriented design and development skills.
• Experience with Git/GitHub.
• Experience working with Windows and Linux environments, including shell scripting.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, ORM frameworks, and database query performance tuning.
• Experience with Azure or other cloud platforms.
• Experience with observability, monitoring, reliability, and resiliency engineering.
• Experience identifying and remediating application vulnerabilities.
• Experience mentoring junior or mid-level engineers.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
