Software Engineer – Core Compute

Location: Germany, Spain or Remote within the EU

Employment: Permanent | Full-time

A leading European cloud service provider is looking for a Software Engineer to join its core infrastructure team.

With services covering the full cloud infrastructure spectrum — from rapidly deployable virtual machines to S3-compatible object storage — the company provides a simple and scalable cloud experience, enabling clients to focus on their core business.

To continue developing a reliable, high-performance infrastructure, the company is hiring a Software Engineer to join its Core Compute team and contribute to the design and implementation of additional capabilities.

Some Of The Challenges You Will Be Working On

  • Design and maintain the core compute platform
  • Design and maintain orchestrators and distributed agents
  • Ensure scalability, reliability, and performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve technical issues
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues
  • Participate in code and change reviews
  • Take part in an on-call rotation following a training period

Ideal Candidates Will

  • Have experience with cloud infrastructure
  • Have prior experience with virtualization technologies such as KVM
  • Have a good understanding of UNIX operating systems
  • Have experience building and operating distributed systems
  • Have a strong focus on performance and monitoring
  • Have experience with either Clojure or Go
