Software Infrastructure Designer

Overview

Hexagon's Autonomous Solutions is looking for an Software Infrastructure Designer to add to our Software Infrastructure team. Reporting to the Team Lead, Software Test Infrastruture, you will design, develop and implement systems that meet user needs for general and customizable test platforms. This team responsible for maintaining, improving, and developing automated test infrastructure used in the verification and validation of software and hardware products. You will learn about our systems and utilize your knowledge to build a truly extensible and full featured system; and to support an ever-increasing demand for automation and testing. Solve challenging problems related to enabling high capacity, high reliability, scalability, and configurability.

This position is with Hexagon’s Autonomy & Positioning division, a global technology leader, pioneering end-to-end solutions industry leaders rely on for assured positioning and autonomy on land, sea and air. Within the Autonomy & Positioning division your work will contribute to the operation of our brand (s) NovAtel, AutonomouStuff, VERIPOS and Antcom.

The Location: This position is based in Calgary, AB.

Responsibilities

As a Software Infrastructure Designer, you will:

• Support, design, and develop all aspects of existing Jenkins/GitLab/Github based automated testing platforms.
• Identify tools and implement processes that can automate manual tasks.
• Identify and solve testing infrastructure problems.
• Build new testing infrastructure to support expanding demand and capacity throughout the entire organization.
• Develop dashboards to present data for various stakeholders.
• Support, design and develop python packages that will be used as part of the infrastructure ecosystem.
• Identify areas for improvement and design major refactor changes for existing infrastructure related python packages.

Qualifications

Must-Have:

• B.Sc. in Computer Science or Engineering or similar relevant experience
• Expertise in Python
• Experience working with CI/CD systems such as GitLab, Jenkins and GitHub
• Proven ability to create good user interfaces and API’s
• Experience with various software testing methodologies and problem solving
• Effective written and verbal communication skills

• Experience with various database technologies and integration

• Virtual environments experience using like Pipenv, Poetry, uv
• GNSS Familiarity
• Portfolio (GitHub OR sample projects)
