Infrastructure Engineer

Our client, a SaaS digital payment platform for the logistics industry, is looking for an Infrastructure Engineer for a direct hire role located in Atlanta, GA. This role is hybrid.

Day to Day:

• Own our AWS footprint and the code that defines it. We're cloud-first by design. If something is clicked together by hand today, your job is to make it a merge request.
• Own the local development experience. Dev containers and Compose that come up fast, mirror production closely, and stay reliable as the platform grows.
• Own our GitLab pipelines and runners. Build times, runner capacity and cost, caching, and the difference between a pipeline people trust and one they rerun three times hoping for a different answer.
• Turn our monitoring into something that tells you why, not just something happened – fewer alerts, better alerts.
• Leverage Claude Code and AI-assisted development workflows throughout the development lifecycle—from initial feature design and implementation to refactoring, test generation, and documentation

Qualifications:

• Background in managing production-grade AWS environments, with a mastery of compute, networking, and data storage services managed through robust infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Strong Docker fundamentals, including multi-stage builds, layer caching, and image optimization, with a track record of images that stay small, build fast, and behave the same in CI as they do in production.
• Fluency with infrastructure-as-code in Terraform or AWS CDK, including module design, state management, and patterns that scale cleanly across multiple environments.
• Substantial expertise in architecting and maintaining CI/CD pipelines. While we prefer GitLab, we value deep knowledge of runners and build optimization gained from using Jenkins, CircleCI, or GitHub Actions.
• Substantial expertise operating within SOC 2 or PCI DSS frameworks, with an understanding of how to balance functional security controls and rigorous documentation. Extra points if you have experience providing direct evidence during audit cycles.
• Experience with compliance platforms such as Vanta for managing audit documentation and evidence gathering
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar) and well-developed opinions on effective AI interaction patterns and workflows
• Demonstrated ability to effectively prompt and collaborate with AI coding assistants to accelerate development, with experience integrating these tools into team workflows for code review, refactoring, test generation, or documentation
• Experience working with APIs using Golang, Python, or a similar language.
• Experience with relational databases and developing transactional software.
• Serverless systems development experience working with AWS services like API Gateway, EC2, ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, SQS, SNS, and Cognito.
• Understanding of system design principles, including loose coupling, separation of concerns, and scalable architecture patterns
• US citizenship or existing work visa

Pluses:

• Hands-on experience with Claude Code for development workflows such as code review, refactoring, or test generation
• Experience with payments, fintech, or another regulated industry
• Have experience in the logistics industry
• Have experience writing automation for vulnerability / penetration testing
