Senior Software Engineer

About the Opportunity

We're looking for a Senior or Principal Software Engineer to help build and evolve modern, customer-facing digital experiences used at scale. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys combining backend engineering, cloud-native architecture, product development, and AI-enabled solutions to create impactful user and business outcomes.

You'll work closely with product managers, designers, data teams, and engineers to build highly scalable applications, APIs, and cloud services that power critical customer experiences. This is a hands-on role focused on ownership, collaboration, and delivering production-ready software from concept through deployment.

This is not a maintenance-focused position. We're looking for someone who enjoys solving business problems, building new capabilities, improving developer velocity, and operating in environments where engineers have significant influence over architecture and product direction.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop scalable backend services, APIs, and cloud-native applications.
• Build customer-facing web applications and digital experiences using modern frontend and backend technologies.
• Collaborate with product, business, design, and engineering teams to define and deliver new features.
• Design and implement distributed systems that prioritize reliability, scalability, security, and performance.
• Leverage AI-powered tools and automation workflows to improve engineering productivity and customer experiences.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical strategy across multiple systems and services.
• Improve observability, monitoring, testing, operational excellence, and system reliability.
• Own projects from requirements gathering through deployment and ongoing production support.

Key Responsibilities

Application & Platform Development

• Design and develop cloud-native applications and microservices.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and service integrations.
• Develop secure, scalable backend services and distributed systems.
• Create reusable frameworks, tooling, and shared engineering components.
• Optimize application performance, security, and availability.
• Support modernization of existing platforms and services.

Cloud & Infrastructure

• Build solutions using AWS cloud technologies.
• Implement serverless and event-driven architectures where appropriate.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows.
• Improve system observability through logging, monitoring, and alerting.
• Partner with infrastructure and platform teams to improve developer experience.

Product Engineering

• Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Collaborate directly with stakeholders and product owners.
• Participate in architecture discussions and technical planning.
• Support rapid prototyping, experimentation, and iterative delivery.
• Drive end-to-end feature ownership from design through production.

Engineering Leadership

• Mentor engineers through code reviews and technical collaboration.
• Promote engineering best practices and quality standards.
• Influence architecture, development standards, and technical direction.
• Help drive continuous improvement across teams and systems.
