Senior DevOps Engineer

We are hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer for a remote-first software company. You will work on a platform that delivers real-time support sessions inside enterprise service and CRM applications with AI assistance. The DevOps engineer will be responsible for the cloud infrastructure, delivery pipelines, and follow reliability practices. This is a hands-on, fully remote position in the US. There will be some overlap with the EU-based team.

You will join a small DevOps / SRE group that supports platform, native clients and QA. The right candidate has experience participating in on-call rotation, with excellent judgement concerning change safety and staged rollouts.

Core Requirements

• 5+ years in DevOps, site reliability, infrastructure or platform engineering
• Previous production AWS experience (ECS, EC2 autoscaling, VPC networking, load balancing, etc.)
• Hands-on OpenTofu or Terraform experience
• Production experience developing infrastructure as code (AWS CDK or CDK for Terraform)
• Proficiency with TypeScript & JavaScript for automation development / internal tooling
• Linux admin, including shell scripting & Docker experience
• Demonstrated experience designing and maintaining CI/CD systems
• Operating Node.js apps in production

• WebRTC, SIP or other UDP-based real-time systems
• Janus, Mediasoup, or TURN services
• AWS Global Accelerator
• UDP Load balancing
• Large-scale migration from CloudFormation to Terrraform or OpenTofu
• Redis, OpenSearch and MySQL
• New Relic, Grafana or Sentry
• CloudFront, AWS WAF or Lambda@Edge
• Code signing and release engineering for macOS, Windows & Android clients
• SOC2 or comparable compliance frameworks

Core Responsibilities

• Design & maintain infrastructure as code in TypeScript using AWS CDK and CDK for Terraform, including shared construct libraries
• Lead migration from AWS CloudFormation to CDK for Terraform
• Provision / maintain computer on Amazon ECS, including EC2 capacity providers, autoscaling groups & spot capacity across multiple accounts & regions
• Design, maintain & troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines in AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild & BitBucket
• Plan capacity and execute deployments
• Develop / maintain observability practices (metrics, logging, alerting, incidents)
• Participate in an on-call rotation
• Implement identity, secrets, and encryption practices in AWS IAM, KMS, and Systems Manager.

Compensation

• $160,000 - $180,000 base salary, based on experience / location
