Data & AI Engineer

Ventós Group is an international company specialized in the distribution and production of Essential Oils & Aroma Chemicals with the Head Quarters located in Barcelona, Spain. The group has 9 subsidiaries around the world.

We are building Ventós’ Data & AI function and are looking for someone who wants to play an active role in its development from the very beginning.

We are looking for a profile with professional experience, a strong technical foundation, analytical skills, curiosity, and a desire to continue growing. You don’t need to be a specialist in a single discipline: the role will work cross-functionally across data, analytics, and artificial intelligence, addressing real business challenges.

You will work directly with the Head of Data & AI, in coordination with IT, business teams, and technology partners.

Responsibilities:

• Explore and understand data from the ERP and other corporate systems, identify data quality inconsistencies, and help resolve them.
• Build and maintain data loading, transformation, and validation processes.
• Contribute to the design of data models and semantic models.
• Develop and enhance Power BI reports, models, and dashboards, as well as existing Analysis Services cubes, troubleshooting issues and incorporating new business requirements.
• Participate in prototypes and use cases involving generative AI, LLMs, and AI agents, connecting them with data, APIs, and corporate tools.
• Create tests and evaluation mechanisms to validate data and AI solutions.
• Document developments and work with version control.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in data, analytics, or artificial intelligence projects, or in software development strongly related to data. Ideally, we are looking for profiles with between 2 and 4 years of experience.
• A university degree or master’s degree in a technological, quantitative, or data-related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience working with databases, data transformation, and ETL/ELT processes.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and Python, good software development practices, and experience working with Git.
• An interest in artificial intelligence and LLMs. If you have worked on any projects using these technologies, even personal ones, we would love to hear about them.

Technology Environment

You will work in an environment that includes, among others, the following technologies:

• SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft Analysis Services.
• Power BI.
• Python and FastAPI.
• Visual Studio Code and Visual Studio.
• Git.

Nice to Have

You are not expected to have expertise in all of these areas, but experience or exposure to any of the following would be a plus:

• Azure or Microsoft Fabric.
• Dimensional modeling and semantic layers.
• REST APIs and data service development.
• Docker and Linux.
• ERP systems or Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• LLMs, RAG, embeddings, AI agents, or MCP.
• Machine Learning, inference, or optimization.
