SAP Basis & Security Specialist

From our ERPs and CRMs division, we are looking for a SAP Basis & Security Specialist for a large client in Sant Cugat del Vallès (Barcelona).

Main responsibilities

• Consult, design, and implement technical SAP security concepts (including network segmentation, application and database levels, SAP Message Server, and Access Control Lists - ACL).
• Conceive, develop, and implement communication architectures using load balancers, SAP Web Dispatcher, SAP Gateway, HTTPS, certificates, and Secure Network Communications (SNC).
• Execute SAP security audits, perform vulnerability analyses across the SAP infrastructure, and participate in penetration testing.
• Analyze firewall rule logs, define firewall rules, and transfer new security requirements into technical rules and regulations.
• Strengthen the overall SAP security posture by identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities and infrastructure gaps in coordination with external hosting vendors.
• Manage users, roles, authorizations (PFCG), and access administration, ensuring strict Segregation of Duties (SoD), compliance with least privilege principles, and GRC oversight.
• Perform core SAP Basis security activities, monitor infrastructure via Focused Run and predictive analytics, and oversee security patching processes (SAP Security Notes).
• Collaborate closely with global IT, IAM, GRC, and cybersecurity teams within an international environment.

Requirements

• At least 3 to 4 years of solid experience in SAP Basis Security management and infrastructure protection.
• Deep understanding of SAP Basis security tools, technical architecture, operating system, and database protection.
• Experience in conducting SAP security audits, vulnerability mitigation, and exposure to penetration testing or threat methodologies.
• Strong knowledge of network security, communication encryption protocols (SNC, SSL/TLS), and interface security.
• University degree.
• Fluent level of English (C1 equivalent) with excellent communication skills to interact in a global environment.
• Valuable pluses: Experience with firewalling rule definitions, Focused Run / predictive analytics, or knowledge of AI application in IT security.
• Strong decision-making capacity, problem-solving mindset, and experience working in agile and international environments.
