Full stack engineer

As a Fullstack Engineer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and maintaining scalable enterprise applications using Java technologies and modern backend frameworks. You will be a valued member of the application development team and work collaboratively with architects, business analysts, product owners, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-quality enterprise solutions.

In This Role, You Will

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications using Java 7/8, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot.
• Lead the development and implementation of application components, microservices, REST APIs, and backend services following established SDLC practices.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical designs, specifications, and development activities.
• Develop high-quality, reusable, and maintainable code utilizing coding standards, design patterns, and industry best practices.
• Leverage Java 8 functional programming capabilities, including Lambda expressions, Streams API, and Optional classes, to enhance application performance and code quality.
• Collaborate with architects, business analysts, product owners, and cross-functional teams to deliver robust and scalable solutions.
• Perform code reviews, provide technical guidance, and mentor junior developers.
• Participate in performance tuning, troubleshooting, debugging, and production support activities.
• Ensure application security, reliability, scalability, and compliance with organizational standards.
• Support automated build and deployment processes through CI/CD pipelines and version control systems.

What You Need to Have to Be Considered

• Strong hands-on experience with Java 7/8 development.
• Experience developing applications using Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
• Proven experience building REST APIs, microservices, and backend services.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and application design principles.
• Experience utilizing Java 8 functional programming features, including Lambda expressions, Streams API, and Optional classes.
• Knowledge of code reviews, debugging, troubleshooting, and application performance tuning.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems.
• Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills in cross-functional team environments.

Salary And Other Compensation

The annual salary for this position is between $54,000pa - $71,000pa depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
