DevOps Engineer | Defence Systems | Contract
Location: Wiltshire, hybrid (1-2 days a week on site)
Rate: £500 - 550 per day, Inside IR35
Start: ASAP
Duration: 6 months
Clearance: Active SC Clearance or higher
The role
This is a hands-on DevOps role across a mainly on-premises estate, while also standing up new Azure cloud environments. You'll own the pipelines, automation and infrastructure that get software safely into secure, controlled environments.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for secure, repeatable releases
- Provision and manage infrastructure with Terraform and Ansible
- Run containerised workloads on Docker and Kubernetes
- Help implement and secure new Azure environments alongside on-prem
- Embed DevSecOps practices: secure configuration, scanning, vulnerability, access and secrets management
- Set up monitoring, logging and alerting
- Troubleshoot deployments and support rollback, recovery and disaster recovery
- Produce the documentation and assurance evidence that secure delivery needs
What you'll bring
- A background in DevOps, platform, infrastructure or cloud engineering
- Hands-on Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes and Azure
- CI/CD experience with Azure DevOps or Jenkins, plus Git (JFrog is a plus)
- Scripting in Bash, Python or PowerShell
- Comfort working to governance and change control in regulated environments
- Clear, concise communication
