Job Overview:
The Network Security Engineer will work on designing, implementing, and maintaining the global network and perimeter security infrastructure. The engineer will work closely with the rest of the organization to ensure a secure design and efficient implementation considering reliability, performance and supportability.
The engineer will focus on reviewing, analyzing and implementing firewall requests on the existing internal and external security perimeter, the evolution and maintenance of the perimeter and the improvement of the security setup from a networking viewpoint considering the end to end data flow.
The engineer will co-operate with our data center outsourcing partner on optimizing their core security perimeter and align the core security, perimeter security, security tools and data flows throughout the environment.
This position is based in our Chicago office and requires a min of 3 days per week onsite in office and occasional on-call avaliabitly on nights and weekends.
Job Responsibilities:

• Implement and maintain the bank's third-party network security perimeter
• Integrate security solutions and ensure their sound operation
• Analyze and optimize new and existing core and perimeter firewall rulesets in co-operation with the data center operator and application owners
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise
• Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement network security related projects
• Provide technical support during troubleshooting
• Stay up to date with development in peer teams and provide advice to network teams

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a network security engineer, preferably in the banking or financial services industry
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
• Familiar with complexity and not afraid of working through complex challenges
• Experience with Cisco networking equipment and protocols
• Strong understanding of network security concepts, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection and prevention systems
• Strong understanding of secure application design and network design as relevant to analyze and challenge firewall rule requests
• Security should be part of the engineer's approach to tasks following the idea of security by design.
• Strong sense of ownership regarding tasks and problems
• Ability to work independently in a well-established environment respecting existing solutions and all processes
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work well under pressure
• Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing
• Stakeholder management skills, especially in a multi-cultural and international environment
• Ability to work onsite in the office a min of 3 days, with occasional on-call avaliabitly on nights and weekends

Preferred Qualifications:

• Information Security (IS) professional qualifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CEH, CISA, CISM and CCSK
• Broad knowledge of IT and security capabilities and processes

Below is the expected base salary for this position. Offers will ultimately be determined based on experience, education, skill set, and performance in the interview process. This position will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
Annual base salary, not including discretionary bonus eligibility: $110,000+
