Junior Software Developer – Industrial Data & Automation

Location: Delta, BC

Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $80,000–$110,000+ CAD, based on experience

TeamBuilders Consulting is seeking an experienced Software Developer – Industrial Data & Automation for their client, a growing technology and engineering organization.

This is an opportunity for a software or data professional who enjoys turning complex data into practical applications, dashboards, and solutions. You’ll work with industrial data from SCADA systems, equipment, historians, and connected systems to acquire, transform, contextualize, and visualize information that supports real-world operations.

What You’ll Do

• Develop software applications, dashboards, reports, and data solutions
• Build and maintain data pipelines using Python and SQL
• Work with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, TimescaleDB, and industrial historians
• Develop data visualizations and user interfaces
• Design ETL/ELT pipelines and analytics solutions
• Integrate systems using APIs and protocols such as OPC UA, MQTT, and Modbus
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, controls teams, and clients
• Troubleshoot and support deployed solutions
• Improve delivery through automation, templates, and repeatable processes
• Contribute to modern data platform architecture and solution design

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in software development, data engineering, analytics, or a related field
• Strong Python and SQL skills
• Solid database experience
• Demonstrated experience with dashboards, data visualization, or reporting
• Experience with data pipelines, ETL/ELT, or system integrations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn
• Applied Data Analytics certification highly preferred

Industrial automation experience is a plus, but not required. The organization is willing to develop the right candidate's knowledge of the industrial environment.
