Azure Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Platform Engineer to support and enhance a mature enterprise Microsoft Azure environment. This role will focus on Azure platform governance, subscription management, infrastructure automation, security controls, and cloud operations.

The engineer will be responsible for maintaining and operating an established Azure environment while supporting application and development teams as they migrate and deploy workloads to the cloud. This is a hands-on platform engineering role with a strong operational focus, rather than a Cloud Architect position.

The ideal candidate has experience working within a large, multi-subscription Azure environment and can demonstrate hands-on experience with Azure Policy, governance, Terraform, and GitHub Actions.

Location: Camden, NJ – Hybrid, 3 days onsite

Responsibilities

• Manage and support the Azure tenant, Management Groups, subscriptions, and resource organization.
• Maintain and support Azure Landing Zone standards within an established enterprise environment.
• Manage Azure Policy, RBAC, governance controls, and cloud guardrails.
• Define and enforce tagging, naming, and resource-management standards.
• Support onboarding of new subscriptions, applications, and workloads into Azure.
• Write and maintain Terraform code to provision and manage Azure resources.
• Work with existing reusable Terraform modules and incorporate them into infrastructure deployments.
• Maintain GitHub Actions pipelines used to trigger Terraform-based cloud provisioning and deployments.
• Support infrastructure automation and configuration-management initiatives.
• Maintain infrastructure repositories and Infrastructure-as-Code standards.
• Implement least-privilege access and appropriate Azure security controls.
• Partner with cybersecurity teams to support cloud security, compliance, and remediation initiatives.
• Monitor Azure infrastructure health and performance using tools such as Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
• Troubleshoot Azure platform, infrastructure, access, and networking issues.
• Support application and development teams operating and deploying workloads within Azure.
• Participate in incident resolution, root-cause analysis, and ongoing platform improvements.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and runbooks.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Azure in an enterprise environment.
• Experience administering a multi-subscription Azure environment, including Management Groups and subscription organization.
• Strong experience with Azure Policy, governance, and cloud guardrails.
• Hands-on Terraform experience, including writing code to provision and manage Azure resources.
• Experience working with reusable Terraform modules and standardized Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
• Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions and CI/CD workflows supporting infrastructure deployments.
• Experience with Azure RBAC and least-privilege access controls.
• Understanding of Azure networking and cloud infrastructure concepts.
• Experience with Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
• Experience supporting application and development teams within an enterprise cloud platform.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to clearly explain the Azure environments, policies, automation, and infrastructure solutions you have personally implemented and supported.
