Senior Cloud & Network Engineer

Robert Half Technology is seeking a Senior Cloud & Network Engineer for a high-ownership hybrid opportunity based in Pasadena, CA or Oakland, CA. This role is ideal for a senior infrastructure professional who can own complex cloud, network, and systems projects while serving as a Tier III escalation point for critical infrastructure issues.

This is not a ticket-heavy support role. The right person will help lead cloud and network initiatives, support a highly Azure-based environment, mentor junior team members, and take ownership of infrastructure across multiple office locations.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and support complex infrastructure projects across Azure cloud, networking, systems, backups, and enterprise infrastructure
• Serve as a Tier III escalation point for network, cloud, systems, and infrastructure issues
• Support Azure infrastructure, Azure networking, Azure backups, cloud systems, and hybrid connectivity
• Manage and optimize enterprise networking, including routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, wireless, VLANs, and network segmentation
• Support Cisco Catalyst switching while helping the environment evolve toward Juniper networking over time
• Assist with SD-WAN, cloud networking, and multi-site connectivity across office and remote locations
• Own infrastructure upgrades, technical documentation, project timelines, risks, and stakeholder communication
• Support disaster recovery, business continuity, monitoring, automation, and infrastructure improvement initiatives
• Mentor Tier I and Tier II support team members and provide technical leadership across the IT team
• Work with vendors, leadership, and cross-functional teams to drive reliable, secure, and scalable solutions

Qualifications:

• 5–15 years of experience in systems, network, cloud, or infrastructure engineering
• Strong Tier III infrastructure, network, or systems engineering background
• Hands-on experience with Azure infrastructure, Azure networking, cloud systems, and backup technologies
• Strong networking experience with Cisco Catalyst switching
• Juniper networking exposure preferred; dual Cisco/Juniper background is a strong plus
• Experience with HP networking preferred
• MSP background strongly preferred
• Experience supporting multi-site environments, including corporate offices and remote locations
• Exposure to SD-WAN preferred, especially Juniper/Aruba EdgeConnect
• Experience with Microsoft server, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and cloud identity concepts
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and mentoring skills
• Certifications are helpful but not required

Compensation / Work Model:

• Salary: $125K–$170K base
• Bonus opportunity in place
• Location: Pasadena, CA or Oakland, CA
• Work Model: Hybrid, ideally 4 days onsite
