Platforms Engineer

As our Platform Engineer, you'll play a key role in creating and evolving our Kubernetes environment, helping development teams deliver innovative solutions with confidence. Working across AWS EKS, Rancher, GitLab, ArgoCD, Terraform, Grafana and more, you'll help build a secure, observable and highly available platform that empowers teams to do their best work. • Kubernetes administration expertise (CKA certification or equivalent).
• Hands-on experience with AWS EKS and/or Rancher Kubernetes platforms.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes security, including RBAC, Kyverno and secrets management.
• Experience with GitOps, Terraform and infrastructure automation.
• Proven capability with observability and monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus and StackState.
• Collaborative experience working in Agile product teams and supporting production environments.

• Strong understanding of core Kubernetes concepts.
• Detailed understanding of Amazon EKS architecture, managed node groups, and integration with AWS services.
• Knowledge of Rancher, including cluster management, multi-cluster orchestration, and custom cluster deployments.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools, particularly Terraform.
• Knowledge of CI/CD best practices, particularly within GitLab, to ensure the efficient and reliable deployment of infrastructure code.
• Awareness of data security, governance, and compliance requirements in cloud environments, with the ability to implement these within Jemena's platform.
