Principal Engineer - Hypervisors, Backup & UNIX Systems

• Own and shape PayNet’s future‑state infrastructure architecture across compute, storage, virtualization, and backup.
• Design and operate highly available, low‑latency virtualization platforms supporting mission‑critical payment systems.
• Lead multi‑year migrations of core services (e.g., DuitNow, FPX, JomPAY) with minimal disruption.
• Build automation frameworks that enable repeatable, secure, and scalable infrastructure operations.
• Drive observability and performance management to ensure capacity, reliability, and uptime.
• Act as technical lead across deployment, integration, and cross‑functional infrastructure initiatives.

• Designing a new virtualization platform and migrating live payment services without customer impact.
• Automating patching and hardening across hundreds of servers to reduce operational risk.
• Diagnosing performance bottlenecks during peak transaction periods and resolving them permanently.
• Partnering with security and network teams to implement resilient, compliant infrastructure designs.

What Will Help You Succeed

• Strong hands‑on experience with RedHat Linux and Windows Server in production environments.
• Proven ability to design and deploy highly available virtualization platforms from the ground up.
• Experience automating infrastructure using tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
• Practical experience with enterprise platforms such as Active Directory, DNS, LDAP, Jenkins, Terraform, and monitoring tools.

• Certifications such as RHCE or LPIC demonstrating advanced Linux expertise.
• Experience in financial services or telecommunications with strict uptime and security requirements.
• Exposure to AWS or GCP, particularly in hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Familiarity with modern CI/CD, monitoring, and logging stacks (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, ELK).
• Experience supporting enterprise application and web platforms (e.g., Nginx, HAProxy, JBoss, WebLogic).
