What You'll Do Day-to-Day:
- Perform routine Microsoft 365 administration across Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams following documented standards.
- Provide Tier 1/2 support for M365 incidents and service requests, escalating complex issues to midlevel and senior engineers.
- Assist with mailbox, distribution list, shared mailbox, and Teams/SharePoint site provisioning and lifecycle tasks.
- Monitor service health dashboards and help track and log recurring issues.
- Execute preapproved configuration changes and Power Automate flows built by senior staff.
- Assist with basic PowerShell / Microsoft Graph scripts under supervision to complete bulk or repetitive tasks.
- Support Teams governance and provisioning activities, including standardizing Team/channel creation.
- Apply defined Microsoft Purview retention/DLP and Defender for Office 365 policies as directed.
- Help validate MFA, conditional access, and mailbox protection settings against established baselines.
- Create and update knowledge base articles, job aids, and enduser guides.
- Partner with Service Desk and Field Services to resolve tickets and share knowledge.
- Participate in project tasks (e.g., mailbox migrations, tenant cleanup) as assigned.
- Foundational understanding of Microsoft 365 workloads, including Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive, and how they are administered.
- Familiarity with the Microsoft 365 admin center and core Exchange Online mailflow concepts, including mailboxes, shared mailboxes, distribution groups, and basic mail routing.
- Basic understanding of identity in Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including users, groups, licensing, and multifactor authentication.
- Awareness of Power Automate and general automation concepts, with a willingness to learn PowerShell and Microsoft Graph.
- Basic exposure to Microsoft Purview (compliance) and Microsoft Defender for Office 365 / Exchange Online Protection.
- Strong troubleshooting instincts, attention to detail, and a customerservice mindset.
- Clear written and verbal communication, with eagerness to learn and follow established standards.
- Healthcare IT exposure is a plus, including awareness that endpoint issues may impact clinical workflows and require heightened urgency.
- An Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred; equivalent handson industry experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications or training are preferred, such as Microsoft 365 Administrator, Teams Administrator, SharePoint Administrator, Messaging Administrator, or related Microsoft cloud and collaboration technologies.
- Capability for sedentary work, including sitting for long periods and occasionally exerting up to 25 pounds of force.
- This is a remote position with occasional travel to Xtensys, customer, or healthcare partner locations based on business needs, generally up to 10%.
- Occasional afterhours or weekend support may be required for scheduled maintenance, system validation, incident response, or participation in an oncall rotation, based on business needs.
