Network Test Engineer

Role: Sr Network Test Engineer - Finance Background

Location: New York, NY / New Jersey (Hybrid) 3–4 days Onsite per week

Key Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and certify network hardware, software releases, patches, SMUs, and security fixes in lab environments.
• Test and troubleshoot Cisco and Arista routers/switches across LAN, WAN, MAN, Data Center, Campus, Branch, and low-latency networks.
• Perform functional, performance, interoperability, and regression testing.
• Validate interoperability with F5, A10, Fortinet, SRX and other network appliances.
• Develop test automation using Python, Ansible, APIs, Git, and Robot Framework.
• Use IXIA/Spirent, Wireshark, and tcpdump for testing and troubleshooting.
• Analyze CVEs, vulnerabilities, bugs, and network risks and support rapid patch/code certification.
• Work with Kubernetes, CNI, eBPF, and Cilium in cloud-native networking environments.
• Create test strategies, engineering standards, certification documents, and technical recommendations.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal engineering teams on PoCs, product evaluations, and network design improvements.

Required Skills

• Strong BGP, OSPF, IGMP, PIM, STP, L2/L3 networking knowledge.
• Cisco IOS/XE/NX-OS and Arista platforms.
• Strong Python, Linux, Git, Ansible and network automation skills.
• Network troubleshooting using Wireshark/tcpdump.
• Experience with CEF, TCAM, QoS, 802.1x, MAB/NAC, IPSec is desirable.
• CCNP-level experience required; CCIE preferred.
• Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and lead complex testing/certification projects.
