Data Engineering & Applications Manager

Location: Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Work Schedule: Hybrid, three days per week onsite

Travel: Approximately 15%

Compensation: $135,000–$155,000 base salary plus up to a 10% annual bonus

Position Overview

Our client, a global manufacturing organization, is seeking a Data Engineering & Applications Manager to lead its applications and data function across North America. This position will manage a growing technical team responsible for enterprise applications, data platforms, systems integrations, application support, and technology modernization. The successful candidate will be an established people manager who combines strong data engineering knowledge with experience overseeing business-critical applications.

This individual will partner with regional business leaders and global technology teams to establish technical standards, improve processes, define priorities, and develop a scalable applications and data roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a regional team of applications and data professionals.
• Oversee enterprise applications, data platforms, integrations, APIs, pipelines, databases, and reporting solutions.
• Define and execute the regional applications and data strategy in alignment with global technology standards.
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand operational needs and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
• Lead application-modernization, data-engineering, systems-integration, and process-improvement initiatives.
• Establish standards for architecture, development, documentation, security, data quality, and governance.
• Ensure the reliability, performance, scalability, and security of business-critical applications and data environments.
• Manage project priorities, technical roadmaps, vendors, budgets, resources, and delivery timelines.
• Provide oversight for application support, incident resolution, system enhancements, and ongoing maintenance.
• Collaborate with global IT teams while representing the requirements of the North American organization.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reporting, automation, and access to business data.
• Support the continued growth and development of the regional technology team.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, data science, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience directly managing and developing technical employees.
• Strong background in data engineering, data architecture, data integration, analytics platforms, or data-platform management.
• Experience overseeing enterprise or business-critical applications.
• Knowledge of application integrations, APIs, databases, data pipelines, and cloud-based platforms.
• Experience leading application-modernization or digital-transformation initiatives.
• Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on technical leadership.
• Strong project-management, prioritization, and vendor-management capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technical teams, business leaders, and global stakeholders.
• Ability to create structure and establish processes within a developing or evolving technology environment.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
