Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join a collaborative engineering team focused on supporting and evolving a modern cloud and container platform. This individual will play a key role in improving platform reliability, automation, and scalability while helping development teams effectively build, deploy, and operate applications.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes, containerization, and CI/CD automation and is comfortable working independently within a highly collaborative environment. This role requires someone who can go beyond executing tickets, identify opportunities for improvement, make sound technical decisions, and help drive solutions forward.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, maintain, and enhance cloud and containerized infrastructure within Microsoft Azure environments.
• Support and optimize Kubernetes-based platforms, including deployment, configuration, troubleshooting, and ongoing platform improvements.
• Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation, with Jenkins X serving as a key component of the current pipeline environment.
• Build and manage containerized workloads using Docker and related container technologies.
• Identify opportunities to increase automation across the platform and reduce manual operational processes.
• Implement and enhance observability, monitoring, logging, and alerting to improve platform reliability and application visibility.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, deployment, and platform issues across cloud and container environments.
• Partner closely with developers, architects, and other engineering teams to design scalable and maintainable solutions.
• Contribute to technical architecture and design decisions, including the creation of Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), technical diagrams, and supporting documentation.
• Communicate technical decisions, risks, dependencies, and recommendations clearly to both technical and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Work semi-independently to evaluate problems, recommend solutions, and drive technical work through completion.
• Contribute to the continued evolution of DevOps practices, platform standards, and engineering best practices.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or a similar technical role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Azure-based infrastructure.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration; AKS experience is highly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and containerization.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD concepts, pipeline development, and deployment automation.
• Experience with Jenkins, Jenkins X, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or comparable CI/CD technologies.
• Experience implementing or supporting observability and monitoring solutions in cloud-native environments.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex platform, infrastructure, and deployment issues.
• Experience contributing to technical architecture and solution design, including diagrams and technical documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts and decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership of technical initiatives and work effectively with limited oversight.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Jenkins X.
• Experience designing or documenting Architecture Decision Records (ADRs).
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale Kubernetes or Azure environments.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management technologies.
• Experience working in environments undergoing increased platform and deployment automation.
• Background supporting development teams and enabling application delivery in an Agile engineering environment.
