Vernovis is looking for a Cloud Solutions Architect who will play a key role in shaping and delivering the architecture of the Azure Cloud Platform. This is a highly technical, hands-on position where you will not only drive architecture and design decisions but also help build and implement the solutions you recommend. You will partner closely with application development teams to establish platform standards, design and deliver cloud components, and support the development and deployment of applications within Azure. The role spans cloud architecture, design, development, implementation, and ongoing platform support. The ideal candidate brings strong Azure architecture and development experience, a solid understanding of software development, ideally C# or Java, and the ability to solve complex technical problems. Just as important, this person must be able to clearly present architecture decisions, explain technical concepts, and build alignment across development teams, technical stakeholders, and leadership.

What You'll Do:

• Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of Azure cloud solutions, translating business and application requirements into scalable, secure, and reliable platform designs.
• Make and drive cloud architecture decisions, then remain hands-on through the build, configuration, deployment, and ongoing support of those solutions.
• Partner with application development teams to define cloud platform standards and architecture patterns and help teams successfully develop and deploy applications within Azure.
• Design, configure, and support cloud technologies including Azure API Management, Azure Container Apps, Confluent Kafka, MongoDB, and Elastic Cloud.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, creating repeatable and automated processes for provisioning and managing Azure resources.
• Build and support CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes using Azure DevOps, including source control and automated platform deployments.
• Design cloud solutions with consideration for availability, scalability, security, performance, observability, and multi-region resiliency.
• Collaborate across application development, infrastructure, security, and engineering teams to troubleshoot complex issues and continuously improve the cloud platform.
• Evaluate new Azure capabilities and cloud technologies, recommending solutions and improvements that support evolving application and business needs.
• Present architecture designs, technical recommendations, and platform capabilities to technical teams and leadership, clearly communicating design decisions, tradeoffs, and implementation approaches.
  

What You'll Have:

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure architecture, design, engineering, and implementation in enterprise cloud environments.
• Demonstrated ability to take a cloud solution from architecture and design through hands-on implementation and deployment.
• Strong experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code, including developing production-quality Terraform code for Azure environments.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, including source control, CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and work management.
• Experience designing and supporting APIs and Azure API Management within enterprise application environments.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized applications, ideally including Azure Container Apps or similar Azure container services.
• Experience with cloud-based data, messaging, and observability technologies; exposure to Confluent Kafka, MongoDB, and Elastic Cloud is strongly preferred.
• Strong software development foundation with experience in C# or Java preferred, particularly when partnering with application development teams.
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture principles, including security, resiliency, scalability, integration, performance, and multi-region design.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex architecture decisions and technical concepts to both technical and business audiences.
