DevOps Engineer

ZumIT is looking for a DevOps Engineer to help build, maintain, and improve reliable cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and development operations.

In this role, you will work across cloud infrastructure, automation, networking, security, CI/CD, and SAP-related DevOps environments. You will collaborate closely with development, QA, infrastructure, and other technical teams to ensure efficient and secure software delivery.

The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms, networking, scripting, CI/CD, and infrastructure operations, combined with a collaborative, team-first mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines and DevOps processes.
• Administer and maintain GitHub-based CI/CD environments, workflows, integrations, and repositories.
• Support and maintain SAP Cloud DevOps environments and apply standard DevOps practices within SAP cloud landscapes.
• Maintain and optimize automated security, quality, and vulnerability scanning processes.
• Manage and troubleshoot npm installations, dependencies, and build environments.
• Automate operational tasks and infrastructure processes using Python, Bash, Shell, Perl, or other scripting languages.
• Design, deploy, and maintain cloud networking components including VPCs/VNETs, VPNs, routing, firewalls, load balancing, and private connectivity.
• Support cloud infrastructure across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Work with development and QA teams to improve deployment automation, environment management, and release processes.
• Support integration of testing and quality processes within Jira, including Xray test management.
• Monitor infrastructure, pipelines, deployments, and cloud services, identifying and resolving operational issues.
• Contribute to improving infrastructure security, reliability, scalability, and automation.
• Collaborate with technical teams across functions and contribute to a strong engineering culture.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Professional experience in a DevOps, Cloud Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or similar role.
• Strong scripting and automation skills in Python, Perl, Bash, Shell, or another commonly used scripting language.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP and network fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience deploying and managing VPCs/VNETs and VPN connectivity in public cloud environments.
• Good knowledge of:
• Routing
• Firewalls
• Load balancing
• Private connectivity
• Network security
• DNS and related networking services
• Strong understanding of public cloud services and global cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with cloud networking, security, operations, and infrastructure management.
• Hands-on experience with one or more major cloud platforms, with knowledge of AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Experience administering and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and GitHub Actions.
• Experience with package and dependency management, including npm.
• Experience maintaining or integrating security and code-quality scanning tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, networking, and pipeline-related issues.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• A team-first mindset, with the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues across different technical and business functions.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Advanced networking knowledge, particularly with Cisco and/or Palo Alto Networks technologies.
• Strong experience with routing, firewall configuration, network security, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with enterprise networking and private connectivity architectures.
• Experience working with SAP enterprise environments and business processes.
• Experience with SAP Cloud DevOps practices and tooling.
• Experience with Cloud Management and Cloud Analytics platforms.
• Strong understanding of modern CI/CD technology stacks and DevOps practices.
• Experience with Jira Xray, particularly integration and management of test plans and automated testing workflows.
• Experience integrating testing, quality, and security processes into CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience working in complex, multi-cloud or enterprise environments.
