DevOps Engineer (m/f/d)

To support our Software team in Ulm we are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer who will be responsible for the concept, development, and operation of full build and integration pipelines for the development of our connected machines of the future. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining and operating a robust device management infrastructure for our global fleet of connected machines and devices. In this role, you will play the crucial part in ensuring efficient and reliable development and operation of our IoT solutions.

Your Responsibilities

• Conceptual design, development and operation of the device management tools & infrastructure (Provisioning, Remote Update, Logging, Analysis, …) for our large-scale global connected devices & machines fleet
• Automate CI/CD, build, test, and deployment processes to ensure an efficient and reliable development environment
• Manage and monitor the device fleet, including configuration management, firmware updates, and troubleshooting
• Collaborate with the development team to understand requirements and develop solutions that optimize the development process and enhance the quality of our machines
• Identify and implement best practices in DevOps and IoT development
• Evaluation and prototyping of the latest tools and trends in software development
• Enforce and implement high-class security concepts in systems and products
• Support system integration and test in an agile team by close cooperation with other developers & testers

Your Qualifications

• B.Sc. / M.Sc. Computer Science or comparable
• End to End understanding of modern Connectivity/IoT systems (device & cloud-backends)
• Creation and operation of containers and deployments (e.g. kubernetes, docker, helm charts)
• Experience in automation and orchestration (e.g. Ansible and Terraform), as well as strong knowledge of configuring and managing build pipelines, preferably using tools such as GitHub Actions or similar
• Sound knowledge of various network and encryption protocols and standards, combined with proficiency in programming and scripting, such as Python, Golang, Rust or similar languages
• Knowledge in configuring & building embedded Linux systems (Yocto, …) is a plus
• Knowledge & interest in the latest software architecture principles and AI-based development practices
• Ability to speak, understand and write English fluently
