Role: Senior Kubernetes Platform Engineer (AWS EKS)

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Kubernetes Platform Engineer with deep expertise in Amazon EKS, Kubernetes operations, cloud infrastructure, and platform engineering. This role will be responsible for designing, managing, and optimizing enterprise Kubernetes platforms while ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and operational excellence across production environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience managing production Kubernetes clusters, automating cloud infrastructure, implementing platform security controls, and driving container platform best practices. Key Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and manage highly available Amazon EKS clusters across multiple environments.
• Own Kubernetes lifecycle management including provisioning, upgrades, node management, and platform modernization initiatives.
• Design and optimize networking, ingress, service connectivity, and secure traffic flow architectures.
• Implement reliability patterns including autoscaling, resource optimization, workload scheduling, and resilience testing.
• Build and enhance observability solutions using monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting tools.
• Drive Kubernetes security initiatives including RBAC, policy enforcement, image governance, secrets management, and runtime security.
• Develop platform automation using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and GitOps methodologies.
• Support production incident response, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and platform improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to establish Kubernetes standards, platform governance, and best practices.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Platform Engineering, or related fields.
• Strong hands-on experience managing Amazon EKS and Kubernetes platforms in production environments.
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, cluster operations, and workload management.
• Strong AWS expertise including VPC, IAM, Load Balancers, Security Groups, and storage services.
• Experience with containerization technologies and modern deployment strategies.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.
• Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and observability solutions for Kubernetes platforms.
• Strong troubleshooting and performance optimization skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS and/or Kubernetes certifications.
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD and Kubernetes deployment pipelines.
• Experience with GitOps tools and operational models.
• Knowledge of multi-cluster management and governance.
• Experience establishing enterprise Kubernetes platform standards and automation frameworks.
