Senior Software Engineer

The Senior Software Engineer will join an established product development team focused on delivering rapid improvements to new and existing software systems. This role will work closely with engineers, QA, UX Design, and Product Management to build and enhance a proprietary software platform serving the resale industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop new features and fixes across the full software stack
• Develop a deep understanding of a proprietary software suite that combines point-of-sale, product appraisal, and inventory management systems
• Own software quality by writing unit and integration tests and manually testing both personal and peer code changes
• Improve the reliability, performance, and speed of software products
• Contribute to the refinement of development and release processes
• Partner with front-line teams to troubleshoot and resolve bugs as needed
• Play an integral role in the Shape Up software development lifecycle
• Mentor and support fellow team members through coaching and knowledge sharing
• Foster a collaborative team environment by actively listening and respecting the ideas of others
• Participate in occasional on-call or support escalation for critical software incidents

What We’re Looking For

• 6+ years of experience building web applications
• Strong understanding of one or more modern backend languages and frameworks
• Significant experience with modern frontend frameworks and API technologies
• Excellent communication and written skills
• Resourceful, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently
• Ability to produce high-quality code independently without relying on LLM assistance

• Communication: Slack, Gmail, Google Docs
