Senior Python Software Engineer (gn) / part-time or full-time

• Platform Architecture & Backend Ownership: Significant ownership of backend structure, system design, performance, and overall platform health

• Infrastructure & Server Management: Handling server setups, deployment pipelines, hosting stability, and site reliability 

• Security & Data Governance: Applying a security-minded approach to data protection, access controls, and system vulnerability safeguards

• Technical Mentorship & Code Quality: Conducting constructive code reviews, actively sharing knowledge, and supporting peers in their professional growth

• Product-Minded Engineering: Operating beyond code syntax, understanding direct product impact, and evaluating technical trade-offs with a focus on business outcomes

Our entire stack, both Python and JavaScript, is kept up to date on a daily basis. Django is our go-to backend framework and Lit our go-to frontend framework. We use GitHub Actions, Heroku for continuous deployment and GitHub for everything code because it's awesome!

• Seniority & Python Mastery: Several years of professional Python experience, feeling comfortable working independently on complex backend systems. 

• Web Frameworks: Strong experience with server-side web frameworks, Django experience is preferred but not required.

• Databases & Analytics: Solid database design and management capabilities. Experience with analytics/data tools (e.g., Metabase) is a plus. 

• DevOps, SRE & Debugging: Practical experience with server configuration, deployment environments, site reliability, strong debugging, and performance-tuning skills

• Mindset & Team Fit: Pragmatic, team-centered, and humble approach with an inclusive and constructive communication style, genuine enthusiasm for an active, in-person team culture (and ideally a soft spot for good coffee!). Fluent English speaking skills for international team collaboration. German is a plus.
