About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our growing technology team and own the data foundation that powers reporting and decision-making across the business. In this role, you will build and maintain reliable data pipelines that move data from source systems through transformation and into analytics-ready datasets trusted by stakeholders.

A core part of the role is working with API-based integrations and upstream systems to ensure data is consistently captured, validated, and delivered into the data platform. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building scalable pipelines, understands how systems exchange data through APIs, and takes pride in data quality and reliability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Pipelines, Orchestration & Delivery

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines that support reliable ingestion, transformation, and delivery of analytics-ready datasets
  • Own and improve orchestration workflows to ensure consistent, timely data availability for reporting and downstream use

API-Driven Data Ingestion & Integration

  • Support and enhance API-based data ingestion between internal and external systems and the data platform
  • Build ingestion patterns that handle real-world API behavior, including pagination, rate limits, retries, schema drift, and partial failures
  • Partner with engineering and stakeholders to define data contracts and ensure consistent payloads into downstream processing

Data Modeling & Warehouse Design

  • Build and maintain data models that support operational reporting and performance analytics
  • Work with large conceptual data models and define how entities should be structured and related within the data warehouse
  • Deliver datasets and views optimized for downstream consumption and reporting tools

Governance, Quality & Trust

  • Apply data governance best practices to ensure datasets are secure, consistent, and usable across teams
  • Define and implement data quality checks to support trust in reporting, including validation, completeness testing, and reconciliation

Observability, Performance & Optimization

  • Build monitoring and alerting to track pipeline health, freshness, failures, and SLA adherence
  • Proactively tune pipeline performance, query efficiency, and warehouse cost management

Reverse ETL & Outbound Data Delivery

  • Support outbound and reverse ETL workflows, delivering curated datasets back into operational systems via API-based delivery

Business Systems & Source Integration (CRM / ERP)

  • Support ingestion and modeling of business-critical datasets from systems such as CRM and ERP platforms
  • Work with data from tools like NetSuite and Salesforce to enable reporting across finance, operations, customer, and revenue workflows

Analytics Support (Exposure)

  • Support analytics datasets that include digital and campaign-related data as needed
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure tracking data is consistent and reportable

Documentation & Collaboration

  • Create and maintain documentation including data definitions, lineage, and pipeline documentation
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with analytics, product, and engineering partners to deliver reliable data solutions

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT/IS, Software Engineering, or similar field.
  • Advanced SQL expertise, including writing and optimizing complex queries in BigQuery
  • Strong experience with Python for data transformation, automation, and pipeline development
  • Experience building and operating large-scale data pipelines and data architectures
  • Strong understanding of relational databases and analytics-focused data modeling
  • Experience working with API-based data integrations and incorporating API-sourced data into ETL/ELT workflows
  • Experience integrating data from business systems such as NetSuite (ERP) and Salesforce (CRM)
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
