Overview We are looking for a Senior Power Platform Developer to join our Business Systems team and help us build the future of urban air mobility. This is your chance to directly impact the mission of certifying the Joby aircraft and scaling our manufacturing operations. As the technological backbone of Joby's operations, the Business Systems team plays a crucial role in engineering, manufacturing, quality, and more. Our Power Platform–based MES covers order management, process planning, shop-floor execution, quality, and supply chain, serving users in China, Germany, and the United States. This position is based at Joby Metal (JMS) in Shenzhen, the home base of the Business Systems team. JMS and JGG run the same MES architecture with more than 80% commonality between the two sites — the modules you build and maintain typically serve both, and most maintenance is shared across sites rather than duplicated. This is first and foremost a hands-on development role: the majority of your time is spent personally designing, building, maintaining, and shipping complex MES modules end to end — from architecture and data model through UI, deployment, and rollout. Advisory work — guiding Power Platform architecture, development best practices, and integration strategies — grows out of the code you deliver, not the other way around. We're looking for someone who can derive, design, and continuously improve the overall MES ecosystem — someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes full ownership, and consistently delivers high-impact results. Responsibilities

• Personally develop, maintain, and ship complex MES modules — this is a high-output, hands-on engineering role. The MES already runs end-to-end production at both JMS and JGG: from order placement and drawing review through production planning, raw material requisition, manufacturing execution, and QC inspection, to non-conformity (MRB) handling and shipment to Joby Aero with inbound receiving. Your job is to keep this live system dependable for the factories that run on it, while continuously extending and optimizing it
• Lead the solution design of new modules: application architecture, SharePoint data modeling, and cross-platform integration (REST APIs, ERP, messaging tools)
• Build high-performance Power Apps canvas applications, applying delegation-aware queries, collection caching, concurrent loading, and reusable component libraries
• Design and maintain robust Power Automate flows with proper error handling, retry logic, pagination, and API integrations
• Own application lifecycle management (ALM): multi-environment architecture, managed solution deployment, connection references, and release governance to keep every change traceable and reversible
• Define development standards — UI design system, component library, naming conventions — and prove them out in your own code before rolling them out to the team
• Diagnose and resolve complex production issues, drive root-cause analysis for major incidents, and design preventive measures
• Partner with international, cross-functional stakeholders to translate business needs into prioritized, deliverable roadmaps, and communicate directly with overseas sites in English; support teammates' growth through code and design reviews Required
• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of software development experience, including 3+ years building and maintaining production solutions on Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps canvas apps, Power Automate cloud flows, SharePoint)
• Proven experience optimizing Power Apps performance at scale (delegation, large-list handling, load-time tuning) and structuring apps with reusable components
• Hands-on experience integrating systems via REST APIs and handling structured data (JSON/XML)
• Strong English communication skills — able to clarify requirements, present solutions, and deliver documentation to international teams independently
• Excellent problem-solving skills, ownership mentality, and the ability to lead work in a global, cross-functional environment Desired
• Microsoft certifications such as PL-400 (Power Platform Developer) or PL-600 (Solution Architect)
• Experience with ALM for Power Platform: Dev/UAT/Prod environment strategy, managed solutions, and pipeline-based deployment through Azure DevOps
• Experience integrating with ERP systems (e.g., Kingdee) or other manufacturing/finance platforms
• MES, manufacturing, or supply chain domain experience
• Experience designing shared component libraries or design systems used across multiple applications
