Senior AWS IoT Engineer

What we’re looking for

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure and cloud architecture.
• Professional experience working with AWS IoT Core.
• Strong understanding of MQTT and IoT communication patterns.
• Experience with AWS ECS, Docker, and containerized workloads.
• Experience migrating workloads between AWS services.
• Strong knowledge of AWS networking, IAM, security policies, certificates, and service-to-service authentication.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch.
• Production troubleshooting and infrastructure support experience.
• Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for AWS workloads.
• Ability to work confidently with existing production systems and perform infrastructure changes with minimal downtime.

Projects

We’re looking for a Senior AWS IoT Engineer to join a team working on a production IoT platform that connects and manages industrial equipment deployed at customer locations.

This is a hands-on role focused on AWS IoT Core, MQTT communication, device connectivity, cloud infrastructure, security, monitoring, and remote device management. You’ll work closely with an existing engineering team to improve the platform, support new hardware and firmware, and execute infrastructure migrations with minimal disruption.

What you’ll do

• Rework and configure AWS IoT Core infrastructure to support new hardware and firmware.
• Configure and manage MQTT communication between connected devices and AWS.
• Build monitoring capabilities and operational dashboards for device connectivity, health, and status.
• Enable secure remote device actions, including OTA firmware updates, device restarts, and remote configuration.
• Review and improve device provisioning, authentication, certificates, policies, and overall IoT security.
• Migrate AWS workloads that are reaching end-of-life or are no longer the right fit, including migrations from AWS App Runner to ECS.
• Support and improve AWS infrastructure, deployment pipelines, monitoring, logging, and alerting.
• Support the migration of existing email infrastructure from AWS to Microsoft Azure while maintaining current application integrations and automated workflows.
• Troubleshoot production infrastructure and collaborate with engineering teams to safely implement architectural changes.
• Work with firmware and hardware teams when needed to support the connected-device ecosystem.
