Data Engineer

Role Summary

We are looking for a Junior Data Engineer to join our team. You will report to the Senior Data Engineers within the Data Engineering department. Engineering is the department responsible for making sure that data is trustworthy and available where it's needed. The focus is on designing and building the infrastructure that deliver accurate, meaningful data

What you'll do

• Build and maintain data pipelines from source systems and applications
• Keep our data platform accurate, complete and on time
• Write clean, maintainable Python and SQL
• Work with Analysts, Product and Software Engineering on metrics, data contracts and data capture
• Take small, scoped features from requirement to production, supported by our Senior Data Engineer

What we're looking for

• A degree in Computer Science, Maths, Engineering or a similar numerate subject
• Python and SQL, from university projects, personal builds, or a placement
• Curiosity, ownership and a willingness to take feedback

Nice to have: Spark or similar, data modelling basics, CI/CD (tests, linting, deploy pipelines), cloud exposure.

Experience: None required. A placement, internship or six months in a related role is a bonus, not a requirement. We care more about how you think than how long you've done it.
