Hydra Search is partnering with an established Australian technology business developing innovative hardware and software products for global markets.

They are growing their engineering team and looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join them on a permanent basis.

🚀 About the opportunity 🚀

• Develop both embedded and PC-based software for new and existing products.
• Work across C and C++ development.
• Develop and improve software for control systems and connected hardware.
• Design and implement software testing, including unit and system testing.
• Analyse test data and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Work closely with software, electronics, mechanical and systems engineers.
• Contribute to the full product development lifecycle.

👤 About you 👤

• Minimum of 3+ years' commercial software engineering experience.
• Degree in Software, Mechatronics, Control Systems or a related discipline.
• Strong C/C++ and embedded systems experience.
• Experience working with microcontrollers and hardware/software interfaces.
• Understanding of communications protocols such as CAN bus, I2C, SPI or serial.
• Experience with Git or similar version control.
• Strong testing, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with complex hardware products would be highly regarded.
