You'll Need to Have
- 10+ years of professional experience designing, developing, and deploying applications with a focus on backend
- Experience building and designing scalable backend systems
- Experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise with development experience in Java 17/21 and Python with building RESTful backend applications using Spring Boot
- Experience in designing, building and maintaining high-thought put low latency data pipelines using Apache Kafka
- Experience with AWS infrastructure and cloud services (Lambda, ECS/Fargate, API Gateway, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager, IAM)
- Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Effective use of AI tools in your own day-to-day work
- Familiarity with software engineering development cycles
- Commitment to writing meaningful unit tests and integration tests
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Work at least 3 days out of our Pasadena office
- Strong skills and experience building AI-powered applications
- Hands-on experience with LLMs, AI agents or conversational AI
- Databricks or similar cloud data warehousing platforms
- Passion for distributed systems and large scale data systems
