We are now seeking a Technologist to join our Laboratory team and play a key role in product development, technical research, quality improvement, and innovation.

About the Role

Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, you will support the development of innovative coating solutions while working closely with manufacturing, sales, customer service, and external suppliers. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys a blend of research, problem-solving, technical development, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Senior Technologist and Laboratory Manager in delivering technical projects.
• Research and evaluate new raw materials and technologies.
• Assist in the development and optimisation of paint and coating formulations.
• Conduct laboratory testing and product evaluations.
• Support product scale-up and production trials.
• Perform quality control testing on production batches.
• Investigate opportunities to improve sustainability, material efficiency, and environmental performance.
• Build strong technical relationships with suppliers.
• Support manufacturing and customer teams in resolving technical issues.
• Contribute to innovation initiatives and industry networking opportunities.
• Support ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
• Help drive GPG's sustainability and B Corp objectives.

What We're Looking For

• A technical qualification (Diploma or Degree) or at least 3 years' relevant industry experience.
• Formulation experience is desirable.
• Strong organisational and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• A self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively.
• A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and innovation.
