Data Engineer

We’re hiring a Data Engineer to help build the future of data at C.W. Matthews Contracting Company!

For more than 80 years, C.W. Matthews has helped build the roads, bridges, airport runways, and infrastructure that keep Georgia moving. Today, the family-owned company employs nearly 2,000 people—and it’s ready to transform a wealth of operational data into more timely, trustworthy business insight.

This is C.W. Matthews’ first dedicated data engineering role, offering the opportunity to design and build an enterprise data platform from the ground up. You’ll connect complex ERP and operational systems, create scalable pipelines and data models, and transform years of business data into reliable insights.

We’re looking for a hands-on architect and builder who can:

• Design a scalable warehouse, lakehouse, or hybrid data environment

• Build reliable ETL/ELT pipelines and integrate complex ERP systems

• Create durable data models and establish strong data-quality practices

• Turn operational data into dashboards, reporting, automation, and future AI-enabled tools

• Translate technical concepts clearly for leaders across the business

The ideal candidate brings advanced SQL skills, strong data architecture and modeling experience, and a genuine curiosity about how a business operates. Experience with Microsoft’s data ecosystem, Azure, Fabric, SQL Server, or complex multi-entity environments is especially valuable.
