Software Engineer

We’re working with an established organisation that is currently going through an exciting period of transformation and building a new technology team. They’re looking for a talented Java Developer to join the team and help shape the next generation of their customer-facing self-service platform.

The Role

As a Java Developer, you’ll be working as part of an Agile development team responsible for maintaining and enhancing an existing self-service platform, whilst also building new applications and services.

What you'll be doing

• Developing and building applications and services using Java
• Working with APIs and microservices
• Developing new features and enhancing existing functionality
• Supporting the migration from a legacy platform to a modern self-service solution
• Working collaboratively within an Agile/Scrum environment
• Participating in two-week development sprints and Scrum ceremonies
• Contributing to technical discussions and helping shape solutions
• Working alongside a supportive and collaborative development team

What we're looking for

• Commercial experience developing with Java
• Strong understanding and experience working with APIs
• Experience developing or working within a microservices architecture
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• A proactive approach and willingness to contribute as part of a team
• Experience with Docker
• Understanding of containerisation technologies
• Experience working on customer-facing platforms or self-service applications
• Experience working within an Agile/Scrum environment
