Senior Data Analyst

Role Purpose:

As our new Senior Data Analyst, you’ll be at the heart of our data-driven decision-making, supporting various departments with advanced analytics, decision support, MI scoping, and hands-on training.

This role is based in Watford with occasional travel to Northampton.

What you’ll be doing:

• Deep Dive Analysis: Deliver detailed, relevant insights that empower business areas to make smart, impactful decisions.
• Data Lake Development: Collaborate with key stakeholders and fellow analysts to shape the development of our Data Lake, recommending and implementing robust analytical solutions.
• Reporting & Governance: Own data tables management, manage business rules and logic, and ensure top-tier data quality assurance, accuracy, and confidentiality across all systems.
• Empowering the Business: Support company reporting needs, maintain robust processes for team best practice, and champion super-user "spokes" across the business to foster self-sufficiency.
• Documentation & Training: Create user manuals, documentation, and training materials that translate complex IT and data concepts into clear, accessible guidance for non-technical colleagues.

What we’re looking for:

• Relevant professional or industry training, including advanced SQL and Data Analysis.
• 5+ years of BI and data experience, with a strong background in business partnering.

Skills & Technical Knowledge

• Expert proficiency with BI tools and cloud data warehouse technologies (e.g., BigQuery), with confidence handling large datasets.
• Strong understanding of SQL databases, star and snowflake schema modelling, and building both basic and complex queries.
• Functional and technical competence in Google reporting and data warehouse architecture.
• Exceptional communication skills, capable of explaining complex data simply, managing projects end-to-end, and providing first-line user support and triage.
• Collaborative team player who is energetic, proactive, well-organised, and responsive to competing priorities.
