Senior Backend Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Develop: Architect, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable backend services and APIs.
• Data Management: Model and manage data efficiently across relational and NoSQL databases, ensuring high performance and data integrity.
• Event-Driven Architecture: Design and implement asynchronous communication and real-time data processing using message brokers.
• System Optimization: Identify bottlenecks, troubleshoot complex issues, and optimize application performance for scale.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (Frontend, Product, DevOps) to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Mentorship & Quality: Uphold high engineering standards through code reviews, technical documentation, and mentoring mid/junior engineers.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience: Proven experience (typically 5+ years) as a Backend Engineer, Software Engineer, or similar role building production-grade systems.
• Programming Languages: Language-agnostic approach with strong engineering fundamentals. Strong preference for candidates with proficiency in Golang
• Databases: Hands-on experience designing and optimizing schemas in relational and/or NoSQL databases, specifically PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
• Caching / In-Memory Stores: Proven experience using Redis for caching, session management, or optimizing data retrieval.
• Message Queues: Proven experience working with event streaming and message brokers, specifically Apache Kafka.
• AI Adoption: A strong willingness and readiness to leverage AI tools (such as AI coding assistants) in your daily workflow to accelerate development, improve problem-solving, and enhance overall productivity.
• Soft Skills: A high sense of responsibility, strong problem-solving abilities, and a proactive mindset toward system health and technical debt.

Bonus Points (Nice-to-Haves)

• End-to-End Ownership: Proven experience handling the full software development lifecycle—from writing the code to deploying and monitoring it in production.
• Frontend Knowledge: Experience or familiarity with modern frontend frameworks, specifically ReactJS or Next.js.
• DevOps & Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration, particularly Kubernetes (K8s) and Docker.
