Robotics Engineer (Germany)
Indexed description
We are looking for a Robotics Engineer in Germany to join our engineering team full-time. In this role, you will work on the development, evaluation, and deployment of state-of-the-art robot foundation models and embodied AI systems. You will collaborate closely with researchers and engineers to build scalable learning pipelines and deploy advanced AI models on real robotic platforms.
This is a deployment-oriented role. Engineers may work on-site at customer facilities for extended periods, and the primary work location may change as projects and customer deployments evolve. Candidates should be comfortable with this level of mobility and on-site work.
Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and deploy robotic manipulation pipelines using commercial robotic platforms (e.g., Interbotix, WidowX, Kinova, Unitree, ABB).
- Implement, train, and evaluate state-of-the-art imitation learning, reinforcement learning, and Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models, including ACT, OpenVLA, π0, Lingbo-VA, and emerging foundation models.
- Build and extend simulation environments using Isaac Lab, Isaac Sim and related simulators for scalable data generation and sim-to-real transfer.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deploy robotic AI solutions in industrial environments such as warehouses and manufacturing facilities.
- Analyze deployment results, identify failure modes, and continuously improve system robustness and performance.
- Bachelor, Master or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent industry research experience).
- Strong programming skills in Python and C++.
- Experience with robotics software frameworks such as ROS/ROS2.
- Experience with simulation platforms including Isaac Lab, Isaac Sim, or similar.
- Strong experience with PyTorch and modern deep learning workflows.
- Familiarity with reinforcement learning, imitation learning, diffusion policies, or Vision-Language-Action models.
- Experience working in Linux environments and GPU computing.
- Strong research skills with the ability to read, implement, and improve upon recent academic publications.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and vibe-coding skills.
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits.
- Opportunity to work on cutting-edge Physical AI and robotics foundation models.
- Direct involvement in deploying AI systems on real-world robotic platforms.
- Close collaboration with leading researchers and experienced engineers from academia and industry.
