Java Developer (3+ years)

About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled Java Developer with at least 3 years of experience in backend development to join our fast-paced startup. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in Spring Boot, NoSQL/MongoDB, and an understanding of SQL databases.

As a core member of our engineering team, you will thrive in a high-velocity environment, championing lean development and rapid MVP rollouts. A background in product engineering, familiarity with GCP cloud services, and a strong understanding of AI-driven development and the AI Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) are highly desirable.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using Java and Spring Boot.
• Embrace a startup mindset by driving rapid prototyping, MVP delivery, and iterating quickly based on lean development principles.
• Integrate AI-based engineering practices into the SDLC, leveraging AI tools to accelerate development and building intelligent, AI-integrated product features.
• Implement and manage databases including NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB), PostgreSQL, and Clickhouse.
• Champion Test-Driven Development (TDD), writing clean, testable, and efficient code backed by robust test suites using JUnit.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver high-quality software solutions with agility and speed.
• Participate in code reviews, debugging, and performance tuning.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and system design discussions.
• Maintain high standards of software quality within the team

Requirements:

• 3+ years of professional experience in Java development.
• Proficiency in the Spring Boot framework.
• Strong experience with NoSQL and PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with Clickhouse databases.
• Proven experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and testing frameworks like JUnit.
• Strong understanding of AI-based engineering aspects, including building AI-integrated workflows, interacting with LLMs, or leveraging AI coding tools to optimize the SDLC.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment with a strong bias for action.
• Understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Exposure to cloud platforms like GCP is a plus.
• Solid foundation in computer science principles and product engineering practices.
• Good communication skills and a proactive attitude towards problem-solving

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in highly agile development environments using lean methodologies.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and automated testing workflows.
• Knowledge of containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
