ERP Systems Analyst/Business Applications Developer

Summary:

Sage Parts is seeking a Business Applications Developer / ERP Systems Analyst to join our application development team. This hybrid role focuses on development, data, integrations, automation, and delivering practical business applications. While ERP experience provides context, the successful candidate’s technical skills, curiosity, and understanding of business processes will drive their projects.

What You’ll Do:

• Design, build, and enhance internal business applications, tools, utilities, integrations, reports, and automation solutions.
• Support and improve ERP-related processes, using ERP knowledge as a foundation for solving broader business and systems challenges.
• Collaborate with business teams to understand their processes and needs, and develop practical solutions that support daily operations.
• Deliver targeted development projects that improve efficiency, automate manual tasks, enhance reporting, and improve data quality.
• Analyze business processes and recommend improvements to applications, workflows, integrations, or data.
• Assist with planning, testing, and implementing vendor releases, patches, integrations, and application enhancements.
• Assess the impact of application and database changes on data quality, security, reporting, and system dependencies.
• Collaborate with teams adopting modern analytics platforms, such as Snowflake and Power BI, as the company modernizes its business intelligence.
• Explore practical uses of AI to improve productivity, reporting, application support, automation, and internal business processes.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong skills in application development, problem-solving, and systems thinking, with the ability to translate business needs into reliable technical solutions.
• Experience supporting, integrating with, or developing for a leading ERP platform such as Prophet 21, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Infor, or a similar enterprise system.
• Solid understanding of business workflows, ERP concepts, data structures, integrations, and the software development lifecycle.
• Ability to work independently on assigned projects while communicating clearly with technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
• Able to manage development tasks, support requests, enhancements, reporting needs, and small to mid-sized projects in a dynamic environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, solid analytical thinking, and a practical approach to solving business problems.
• 2-5 years of combined experience in at least two of the following areas:
• Application development in the Microsoft ecosystem, including SQL Server, C#, ASP.NET, Git, Azure DevOps, APIs, integrations, or related technologies.
• SQL, data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence using tools such as SQL Server, Crystal Reports, SSRS, Power BI, or Snowflake.
• Business process analysis, workflow improvement, automation, or application support.
• ERP system administration, configuration, support, implementation, or development.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Development, Data Science, or a relevant field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Hands-on experience developing business applications, integrations, reports, automation, or data-driven tools.
• Experience with SQL Server, Snowflake, Power BI, or similar data and analytics platforms.
• Experience supporting business users, gathering requirements, and translating those requirements into reliable applications, tools, or reports.
• Familiarity with web applications, IIS, APIs, integrations, Git, Azure DevOps, or internal business application development.
• Interest in using AI responsibly to improve productivity, analysis, automation, reporting, and business support.
• Prophet 21 experience is helpful, but not required; broader ERP experience and the ability to learn complex business systems are more important.
