Associate Software Engineer

Role Purpose

The Associate Software Engineer (frontend) is an entry-level role designed to provide hands-on experience in software development and engineering practices. The purpose of this role is to support the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software applications under the guidance of more experienced engineers. This position is focused on building foundational technical skills, understanding software engineering methodologies, and contributing to small projects or components of larger systems.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement and test basic software applications.
• Write, debug, and test code for specific features or components under the supervision of senior engineers.
• Support and/or install applications/operating systems.
• Participate in design reviews.
• Use multiple information sources to understand a situation and apply standard procedures to resolve routine issues.
• Document code and technical processes clearly for future reference.
• Follow coding standards and guidelines as set by the team or organisation.

Experience:

• Experience with React
• JSS, CSS in JS
• GitHub actions or similar DevOps related technologies
• Typescript
• AWS, Azure or other cloud providers
• WCAG, general accessibility driven technologies
