Junior Developer

About the role

As a Junior Developer in the IT Team, you'll work alongside experienced developers to design, build, and enhance secure, scalable banking software. You'll gain hands-on experience across both front-end and back-end development while working in an agile environment that encourages learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their software development career who is passionate about coding, problem-solving, and developing high-quality applications.

Role Responsibilities:

• Developing software solutions that meet business and customer requirements
• Enhancing and maintaining existing applications
• Writing clean, well-documented, object-oriented code
• Applying design patterns and SOLID development principles
• Contributing to Test-Driven Development (TDD) and automated testing
• Building engaging user interfaces and secure API integrations
• Participating in Agile ceremonies and collaborative team working
• Taking part in code reviews and knowledge-sharing activities
• Continuously developing your technical skills and industry knowledge

Required skills/experience:

• Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
• Knowledge of software design principles and patterns
• Experience with version control systems (Git preferred)
• Some experience with HTML and JavaScript or another high-level programming language
• Understanding of SQL databases

Desirable skills/experience:

• PHP, Node.js, React, or TypeScript
• SOLID principles
• Test-Driven Development (TDD)
• Linux Shell (Bash) or PowerShell
