Location: Hartford, CT

Work Arrangement: Hybrid – onsite approximately 1 day per week / 2 days every 2 weeks

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Position Overview

The Connecticut Department of Children and Families (DCF) is seeking an experienced Senior Salesforce Developer / Full Stack Developer to support its mission-critical child welfare technology systems and the development of the next-generation Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System (CCWIS / CT-KIND).

The developer will support existing custom Salesforce applications while participating throughout the SDLC for the new CT-KIND platform.

This position requires a senior-level developer who can independently take work from requirements through design, development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and support.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop custom Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning, Visualforce, SOQL, and Salesforce configuration
• Apply strong Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and design patterns in Apex
• Support and enhance existing custom Salesforce applications
• Participate in the design and development of the new CT-KIND/CCWIS platform
• Work across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Translate business and technical requirements into scalable solutions
• Develop and support application integrations
• Perform testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and production support
• Create and maintain technical documentation
• Collaborate with the System Integrator and internal DCF technical teams
• Participate in knowledge transfer and ongoing application maintenance
• Mentor less-experienced developers
• Independently drive assigned work from requirements through implementation

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software development experience
• 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience – REQUIRED
• Strong hands-on Apex development
• Strong understanding of OOP concepts in Apex
• Strong knowledge of design patterns
• Experience with Salesforce Lightning
• Experience with Visualforce
• Strong SOQL experience
• Salesforce configuration experience
• Strong understanding of CRUD and application architecture
• Experience with SQL
• Strong end-to-end web development experience
• Experience throughout the SDLC
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Ability to work independently and proactively

Additional / Preferred Technical Experience

• .NET / C#
• Object-Oriented Programming in .NET
• SOA / Web Services
• JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks
• Responsive design patterns
• Agile development methodologies

• Must be able to work onsite approximately 1 day per week / 2 days every 2 weeks
