Full Stack Java Developer

The Digital S/W Engineer Intmd Analyst is a developing professional role. Deals with most problems independently and has some latitude to solve complex problems. Integrates in-depth specialty area knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices. Good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the subfunction/ job family. Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies. Requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of factual information. Typically deals with variable issues with potentially broader business impact. Applies professional judgment when interpreting data and results. Breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information. Moderate but direct impact through close contact with the businesses' core activities. Quality and timeliness of service provided will affect the effectiveness of own team and other closely related teams.

We are actively seeking a motivated and talented Junior Full Stack Java Engineer coupled with an emerging AI skillset. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in core technologies including Java, Spring Boot, Oracle, OpenShift, Docker, and Kubernetes. This role entails active participation in the end-to-end development, testing, and deployment of high-quality software solutions, collaborating closely with senior team members and technical leads.

Responsibilities:

• AI-Driven Development: Utilize AI tools, such as GitHub Copilot, to enhance development efficiency, accelerate task delivery timelines, and optimize software solutions.
• AI Landscape Awareness: Maintain awareness of the rapidly evolving AI landscape and proactively suggest innovative approaches or tools to help implement product features.
• Execution and Collaboration: Take accountability for delivering assigned application features to successful completion. Provide support for larger project initiatives and collaborate closely with senior developers to execute design patterns.
• Problem Solving and Troubleshooting: Demonstrate the ability to analyze and effectively troubleshoot standard coding, application performance, and design challenges.
• Root Cause Analysis: Assist in conducting research to identify the root causes of development and performance issues, as well as implementing effective defect resolutions under senior guidance.
• Technical Acumen: Demonstrate a solid understanding of the technical and functional requirements pertinent to the solutions under development.
• Containerization and Orchestration: Utilize Docker for application containerization and gain experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift for service orchestration.
• Communication and Risk Management: Effectively communicate progress, proactively flag development bottlenecks, and assist in identifying and tracking issues and risks within assigned tasks.
• Process Optimization: Support efforts to streamline, automate, or improve build, test, and deployment processes within the immediate development team.

Requirements:

• Proven Experience: 4 to 8 years of proven software development experience, focusing on Java, Spring Boot, Angular or React, and Oracle.
• Modern Application Development:
• Solid understanding of modern application architecture principles.
• Hands-on experience (or at least awareness/theoretical knowledge of) with AI coding agents/tools like Claude Code, Devin, Replit, Cursor, Codex, etc.
• Good working knowledge of Microservices frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot), and exposure to Event-Driven Services and Cloud-Native Application Development.
• Full Stack Proficiency: Demonstrated capability to develop and maintain both front-end and back-end components of robust web applications.
• Front-End Development: Hands-on experience in developing intuitive user interfaces using contemporary JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Angular or React), HTML5, and CSS.
• Back-End Development: Solid experience in developing server-side logic and REST APIs using languages such as Java, Python, or similar.
• Database Expertise: Good working knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL, with a solid understanding of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS), particularly Oracle.
• API Development: Capability in building, testing, and implementing RESTful APIs leveraging appropriate frameworks and technologies.
• CI/CD and DevOps:
• Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and tools for building (e.g., Maven, Gradle) and deploying code (e.g., Docker, Jenkins, OpenShift).
• Experience with AWS is considered an advantage.
• Agile Methodologies: Practical experience working within Agile development methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and utilizing project management tools such as JIRA.
• Testing Automation: Ability to write and automate unit and integration tests (e.g., JUnit, Mockito) to ensure code quality and test coverage.
• Version Control: Solid understanding and practical experience with code versioning tools, including GitHub Enterprise and Bitbucket.
  

Education:

A bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field is required. An advanced degree or relevant technical certifications are considered a plus.

This is a full-time position. The successful candidate must be willing to work in UK business hours from Chennai, India.
